Remember when music was written and played for the simple satisfaction of expression? When punk rock could identify you as being an individual ... When metal was - FAST?! New genres of music range from Emo-pop-metal punk, Pop-new wave-emo alternative, Classical-folk-disco-pop-r&b-metal-glam rock-jazz .. how confusing! Wouldn't it be nice to know that somewhere new music is actually good???

A new band is calling out those bands - bringing back the idea that music is about expression and individuality. Fused with influences from Alkaline Trio, Metallica, the Aquabats, Homegrown, and the Cars to ZZ Top, TFP, MXPX, A7X, NUFAN, and HFT - Phoenix Down is just what your CD collection needs for ultimate completeness.

Phoenix Down was started by Shawnboy Love and a man simply known as "B" - bummed that VR Troopers was canceled off of network TV. They needed an outlet, and began their search for a band. Eventually they crossed paths with a soul equally upset that the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was changed, and Tommy would no longer be the Red Ranger. Ethan "The Buzzsaw" was SO distraught he quit his old band, DO3 and moved the the Pacific Northwest and became the 3rd to form Phoenix Down. They had a 4th for a while - a strapping young lad simply known as "Andrew" - who later succumbed to the temptation of a woman. "Andrew", as luck would have it - left his bass so Phoenix Down could record their first demo.

The Buzzsaw eventually ran across Jay "the Shredder" Sun - a man adept at playing a mean blues lead in "A" and the finer points of 90's alternative. Jay had a quick stint with Phoenix Down, but the calling of Wisconsin coupled with the terminal disease known as "rugrat influenza" and "spousal influenza". Eww.

One of Phoenix Down's fan who idolized them and their music learned every song on bass - and it just so worked out that Josh "Megaman 3" Orth joined the phenom now simply known as ... Phoenix Down.
